GOLF-SPECIFIC YOGA

Antidote Yoga x Golf is comprised of 4 foundational pillars. The marriage of these unique facets in relation to yoga and the golf swing provides accessibility and diversity for golfers of all levels.

  • Strength

A strength training tailored to the golf swing. It builds golf specific strength as you strengthen your wrists, forearms, shoulders, core, and spine. Recruiting both the bigger and smaller muscle groups while relying on eccentric contraction where the muscle stretches as it contracts. This practice builds full body strength and conditions your body for golf while reducing the risk of injury.

  • Stability

A dynamic process that cultivates stability within your core, spine, pelvis, knees, and feet while maintaining control over your joints and addressing muscular imbalances. As a larger range of motion is desired throughout these practices, the goal is to maintain strength and stability within that range of motion. This practice enhances balance, coordination and body awareness. It creates a strong and stable foundation for effective and efficient movement.

  • Range of Motion

A functional approach that enhances the range of motion in your joints and your muscular and fascial systems. This practice enhances both your passive and active range of motion by adding elements from manual therapy into the movements. Not only increasing your range of motion but enhancing the amount of control you have within that range of motion. Helping your joints to function optimally and safely while preparing you for the golf swing.

  • Stillness

A practice that starts from the body and extends into the mind. Challenging the body with strong movements while utilizing the breath to calm the mind. This mindful movement practice creates a deeper level of awareness and brings you out of your head and into your body. A rhythmic moving meditation that supports the mind-body connection and cultivates a stillness that you can not only carry with you to the golf course but into your daily life.
